Teleperformance (TP) Philippines, a leading global digital business services company, marked Pride Month 2024 with an all-out participation by its workforce, with over 2,000 TP employees joining the Pride March activities in different parts of the country.

Teleperformance Philippines partnered with the local government units of Quezon City, Bacolod City, Cebu City, Cagayan de Oro and Davao City as part of its commitment for gender equality and LGBTQIA+ workplace inclusion.

In Bacolod City, Teleperformance employees joined LGBTQIA+ advocates and allies in a march from Bacolod City Public Plaza to the Provincial Capitol Lagoon and Park last June 29, culminating the month-long celebration organized by Negros PRIDE.

“I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: our support for the LGBTQIA+ community goes beyond Pride Month,” said Teleperformance Philippines Chief Executive Officer Rahul Jolly. “Teleperformance Philippines is and will always be a safe space for our colleagues to express their most authentic selves. Joining the Pride March areas across the country is just one of our many ways of expressing our support to the community.”
DE&I initiatives

Ahead of the June Pride March, Teleperformance Philippines served as a Platinum Sponsor for the Philippine Financial & Inter-Industry Pride’s (PFIP) 2nd Visayas LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion Conference at the Radisson Blue, Cebu City. Themed “Padayon: Nurturing LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion in Visayas,” the conference provided participants necessary tools and strategies from expert speakers on fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace.

The event was attended by representatives from leading businesses, nongovernmental organizations, and other governmental institutions in the region.

“Teleperformance Philippines is honored to support the 2nd Visayas LGBTQ+ Workplace Inclusion Conference. PFIP’s annual conference strategically aligns with TP Philippines’ ongoing efforts to sustain a diverse, safe, and inclusive workplace where everybody is seen and supported regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity,” said TP Women Chair & TP Philippines Executive Vice President for Client Operations Toni Tompar.

Chief People Officer Jeffrey Johnson also added, “Our team at TP believes that an employee-focused workplace drives success for the company. Beyond our DE&I projects in Metro Manila, we are also working with organizations and communities in the Visayas and Mindanao to increase our reach and the extent of our impact.”

All year round, DE&I programs and initiatives such as the TP Pride Town Hall and Virtual Kwentuhan “Queertuhan” sessions offer a platform for open discussions on various issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community and its allies within and outside the workplace

Recently, Teleperformance Philippines partnered with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde to host interns from the School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS). Several of these interns who are also members of the LGBTQIA+ community proudly participated in the Pride March.

Vee Jahnsen Agalep, one of the Deaf interns, shared their excitement about joining the parade for the first time: “This is my first time joining the Pride March. I will be participating to support the LGBT community and to express my identity. I feel supported.” Archie Drillon, another Deaf intern, emphasized the importance of community inclusion, saying, “it’s a great experience for me to be included in the community, especially with TP.”

Meanwhile, Mark David, a first-time participant and a trainer from TP Alphaland Southgate site, also shared his thoughts on joining the Pride March: “Teleperformance inspired me to join this event because our values align with the spirit of the Pride March. It’s meaningful to see my company supporting who we are and what we stand for.”* (PR)
