KURIT SA LAYAG 2024 WINNERS

The 2nd Kurit sa Layag painting contest winners were named after the fluvial procession held at Bantayan Park in Bago City, Negros Occidental, June 24, to mark the Feast of the City’s patron saint, St. John the Baptist. First place award was given to Cluster 6, composed of Barangays Lag-asan, Poblacion, Pacol, and Bagroy which took home P20,000 in cash prize. Cluster 2 was awarded second place, composed of Barangays Calumangan, Bacong, Sagasa, and Dulao, and received P15,000 in cash prize. Third place was given to Cluster 1, composed of Barangays Ma-ao, Ilijan, Binubuhan, and Mailum, and got P10,000 in cash prize. About six clustered barangays competed in this year’s Kurit sa Layag painting contest initiated by the Bago City Tourism Office, marking the 449th Foundation Day of Bago.* (Andrew Altarejos text & photos)
