North Negros Cluster gears up for Abanse Negrense–NBTC semis, finals
Top four teams in the North Negros Cluster are preparing for the final battle as its Local Qualifying enters the semi-final round this Saturday, January 27.
Murcia’s MOBCA (Murcia Open Bible Christian Academy), ONE Silay, Notre Dame Talisay City, and Escalante City will vie for the ultimate champion title and will be given the opportunity to represent the Province of Negros Occidental in the next phase of the competition – the Visayas Regional Championship.
The MURCIA – MOBCA team is set to shut down ONE Silay’s bid for the championships on Saturday at the Don Edilberto B. Vocal, Sr. Memorial Civic Center in Manapla. Notre Dame Talisay City will also thwart Escalante City’s advances in the semi-final round this weekend.
Meanwhile, the Central and South Negros Clusters are set to end its eliminations on Saturday and proceed to the semi-final battle on Sunday.
For the Central Negros Cluster, La Consolacion College – Bacolod (LCC-B) needs to put a strong performance against Team 10.
The Spartans, on the other hand, are set to beat STI-West Negros University (STI-WNU/NZANE) while RGC Stingers will fight against BEBE 2025.
Bacolod Tay Tung High School also needs to defeat Bata National High School (BNHS) Lions, and Red Owl Prestigeo 34 is set to face Team 10 in the final round of the Central Negros Local Qualifying eliminations.
As for the South Negros Cluster, the Municipality of Pontevedra needs to secure their victory against Kabankalan City A while Sipalay City will face Kabankalan City B in the hopes to advance to the semi-final round.
The Municipallity of Ilog needs to secure their place by facing the Municipality of Hinigaran inside the basketball court. And the Municipality of La Castellana will try to defeat La Carlota City as they vie to secure a spot in the semis.
Following the last set of eliminations and the semi-final rounds, winning teams from the North, Central, and South Negros Local Qualifying will meet altogether and advance to the Battle for Third and Finals, which is set on February 3, 2024 at the Montalbo Covered Court in Bacolod City.
