City to release rice aid to 344K Bacolodnons
The Bacolod City government will give two kilos of rice each to all 344,000 residents starting, Saturday, September 9.
Mayor Albee Benitez, in today’s press conference, said the city government allotted P40 million from its calamity fund and bought 14,000 sacks of rice.
Benitez said the Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) will be tasked to distribute the rice assistance to the 61 barangays in the city.
The venue will be in the different public schools in the city, the mayor said.
Each resident will receive two kilos of rice from the city government.
Benitez said the list will be taken from the list of registered voters of the Commission on Election.
To ensure that the distribution will not be used for politics, incumbent and aspiring candidates will not be allowed to go near the distribution centers, he said.* (EYA)
