PRO NIR Successfully Implements Search Warrant

Illegal firearm and ammunition seized in Bacolod

Elements of the Regional Intelligence Division (RID) of Police Regional Office Negros Island Region (PRO NIR), in coordination with Bacolod City Police Office Police Station 8 (BCPO PS8), successfully implemented Search Warrant for violation of Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) on April 5, 2026.

The operation was conducted at approximately 11:10 AM to 2:30 PM at L.T. Vista corner Lacson Street, Barangay Singcang Airport, Bacolod.

The implementation of the search warrant, issued by the Regional Trial Court, 6th Judicial Region, Bacolod City, was carried out in full compliance with Supreme Court guidelines under A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC.

The operation utilized one (1) Body-Worn Camera (BWC) and one (1) Alternative Recording Device (ARD) and was conducted in the presence of required witnesses, including a barangay official and a media representative.

As a result of the operation, authorities confiscated the following items: One (1) Colt caliber .45 pistol without serial number; One (1) magazine assembly loaded with five (5) live ammunition of caliber .45; Seventy-eight (78) pieces of live ammunition for caliber 9mm; Forty-nine (49) pieces of live ammunition for caliber .38; Eleven (11) pieces of live ammunition for caliber .45; One (1) live ammunition for caliber .357 revolver.

The arrested suspect was informed of his constitutional rights and is now under police custody. Both the suspect and the confiscated evidence were brought to the RID office for proper disposition and the filing of appropriate charges.

All seized items were inventoried and marked at the place of search. The operation was carried out peacefully and orderly, with no untoward incidents reported.
