Relief Partners Combine Resources to Support Tino Survivors in Negros

December 17, 2025

A joint relief mission delivered emergency assistance to more than 550 families affected by Typhoon Tino in Negros Occidental on November 29, 2025.

The Zakat Foundation led the operation, while TAHA Foundation PH implemented the distribution with support from the Rotary Club of Kabankalan City’s “Oplan Bulig,” Hope Builders Organization Negros Island Inc. (HBONI), and CopyXSpace Coworking.

The teams reached storm-hit communities in Moises Padilla, La Castellana, and Isabela, where families faced food shortages, damaged homes, and limited access to clean water after the typhoon.

Volunteers distributed rice, canned goods, noodles, clean drinking water, banig or sleeping mats, and other basic necessities to each beneficiary family to address immediate needs.

The assistance helped families resume daily routines in the aftermath of the storm. Parents prepared meals for their children after days of uncertainty, while elderly residents gained access to safe drinking water.

Families who lost household items found relief in receiving basic sleeping mats and supplies.

The organizers said that Zakat Foundation provided the primary funding for the relief mission.

TAHA Foundation PH coordinated the use and management of resources, while the Rotary Club of Kabankalan City, HBONI, and CopyXSpace Coworking mobilized volunteers, logistics, and local networks to ensure timely delivery, they said.

They added that the partnership showed how humanitarian groups, civic organizations, and private entities can work together to strengthen disaster response.

The groups also thanked the local government units of Moises Padilla, La Castellana, and Isabela for facilitating coordination and access to affected communities.

As recovery efforts continue, the partner organizations said they will sustain their support for families working to rebuild and stabilize their lives after Typhoon Tino.* (Reymund Titong / BNFMKabankalan)
