Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson honored outgoing Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (NOCPPO) Director P/Col. Rainerio M. de Chavez and his accomplishments, and welcomed P/Col. Dennis C. Wenceslao as the new Provincial Director during the turnover of command ceremony held at Camp Alfredo M. Montelibano, Sr. in Bacolod City.
The ceremony was presided by P/Col. Dennis Esguerra, Acting Deputy Regional Director for Administration (ADRDA) of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region, and was attended by PNP officers and guests.
In his message, Gov. Lacson expressed confidence in the leadership of Col. Wenceslao to build on the foundations laid by his predecessors and to bring fresh energy, vision, and resolve in the continuing fight against criminality, illegal drugs, and other threats to public safety.
“As you start your command, you can be assured that you have the full support of the Provincial Government as well as the communities you are sworn to serve and protect,” the governor said.
“As your governor, I understand that the work of maintaining peace and order is never easy. But with the Philippine National Police and the Provincial Government working hand in hand, I am confident that we will be able to achieve more for the safety and well-being of every Negrense,” he added.
For his part, Col. Wenceslao vowed to strengthen collaboration with local government units, partner institutions, and the community in building a culture of peace and security in Negros Occidental.* (W/ PGNO SMP)
