Sing Philippines Youth Choir to Perform in Bacolod
The Sing Philippines Youth Choir (SPYC), under the esteemed direction of Mr. Mark Anthony Carpio, is set to grace Bacolod City with a special fundraising concert on September 9, 2025, at the University of St. La Salle (USLS) Coliseum, with two performances at 10:30 AM and 6:00 PM.
As one of the country’s premier choral ensembles, SPYC brings together talented young singers from across the Philippines, showcasing the richness of Filipino artistry and unity through music. The concert promises a repertoire that blends timeless classics, Filipino masterpieces, and contemporary works—celebrating the transformative power of choral music.
More than a musical event, the SPYC concert is a fundraising initiative for The Negros Museums’ TUKLAS (Tulong Kaalaman Senter) Center, (a program dedicated to supporting the education and cultural exposure of marginalized children in Negros), Balay Munyeka, (a newly established museum featuring dolls from all over the world) and University of St. La Salle’s Artists’ HUB (secures the academic training and creative formation of qualified and deserving student-artists of the University).
Proceed from this concert will help provide creative learning opportunities and access to the arts for children and students who need it most.
In addition to the concert, SPYC will conduct a choral workshop on September 8, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, exclusively for select chorale groups in Bacolod and neighboring areas. This rare opportunity will allow aspiring singers and conductors to learn directly from SPYC’s distinguished mentors, enhancing the region’s choral excellence.
This landmark event is made possible through the partnership of the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the Negros Cultural Foundation, Inc., in collaboration with the University of St. La Salle, the Province of Negros Occidental, and local cultural institutions dedicated to fostering world-class performances and meaningful artistic exchanges.
Tickets are now available. For reservations and inquiries, please contact Noel at 0946-289-4896 or email negrosculturalfoundation.inc@gmail.com.
