NOCECO Garners Awards at NEA’s 56th Founding Rites

In a remarkable occasion during the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA’s) 56th Founding Anniversary, Negros Occidental Electric Cooperative (NOCECO) once again proved its commitment to quality service and excellent performance through its commendable operations by receiving major awards from the recently concluded NEA-EC Convergence.

The NEA-EC Convergence which also coincides with the NEA’s anniversary and the 16th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM) was held August 7-9, 2025 at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City.

“Our Cooperative was able to receive several awards during the joint awarding ceremonies of NEA and the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA),” the Kabankalan City-based electric cooperative said in a statement.

During the Lumens awarding ceremony conferred by NEA, NOCECO was able to bag the following recognitions:
• EC WITH FULLY LIQUIDATED SUBSIDY FUND – for timely submission of complete documentary requirements in the liquidation of government subsidy funds thereby ensuring compliance to good governance and sound fiscal management;
• EC WITH HIGH AGMA ATTENDANCE – for promoting wider participation and active involvement of the member-consumer-owners (MCOs) in the affairs and decision-making process of the electric cooperative towards institutional strengthening;
• SINGLE DIGIT SYSTEM LOSS AWARD – for having attained a single digit distribution system feeder loss thereby contributing to the collective commitment of NEA and ECs to further improve service efficiency and reduce power rates; and
• IMPROVED ELECTRIC COOPERATIVE – for its significant transformation in the overall performance assessment resulting from “A” TO “AA” demonstrating deep commitment to improve operational efficiency.

The Awards from the Wires 2025 which was spearheaded by PHILRECA, the Cooperative was able to bring home the following:
• PROMPT PAYOR AWARD – for committing itself to timely and efficient settlement of its annual dues as a member EC of PHILRECA. Its determination to settle its financial obligations as a member EC has contributed to PHILRECA’s outstanding collection efficiency;
• MODEL MEMBER-EC AWARD – for fulfilling all its financial obligations and for settling all payments for webinars, trainings, and other events and services of PHILRECA; and
• OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY & HEALTHY EXCELLENCE AWARD – for achieving operation and service without incurring occupational casualties and for observing and strictly implementing effective safety measures in its operations.

Project Supervisor and Acting General Manager, Domingo S. Santiago, Jr. together with the Management Committee and select NOCECO employees were present during the joint awarding ceremonies.

“Indeed, these set of awards and recognitions are a solid testament of NOCECO’s unwavering commitment and dedication to provide efficient and quality electric distribution services to the community it serves.
