SM Foundation, CHO Partner for ‘Gamot Para sa Kapwa’

Over 500 residents of Bacolod received free medical and dental services during the SM Foundation’s medical and dental mission held recently at SM City Bacolod.
In collaboration with the Bacolod City Health Office (CHO), the mission served individuals identified by the City Department of Social Services and Development as those most in need of healthcare support.
The CHO medical and dental team provided free medical consultations, while dental check-ups and extractions were also offered by the CHO team. SM Foundation’s mobile clinic delivered essential diagnostic services including X-rays, electrocardiograms (ECG), and basic blood tests for sugar, uric acid, cholesterol, and hemoglobin levels.
The initiative forms part of SM Foundation’s “Gamot Para sa Kapwa” program, which brings much-needed health services directly to underserved communities.
“Our mission is to help address the healthcare needs of those with limited access, especially in areas where SM operates,” said SMFI senior project manager for health and wellness Dr. Bles Bertos. “We are grateful to our partners for making this outreach a success.”
The City of Bacolod, through the CHO and DSSD expressed appreciation for the foundation’s continuing support in improving the health and wellbeing of Bacolod’s vulnerable sectors.*
