Cadiz Hails PNU-V Performance, Topnotchers in March Teachers’ Exams

The City Government of Cadiz hailed Philippine Normal University -Visayas (PNU-V) performance and two topnothers in the March 2025 teachers’ exams.
With the official results released by the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) on Friday , May 23, PNU-V was named among among those schools in the country that ranked number one with 100% passing rate in the secondary level.
It has 133 examinees – all passed.
It tied with three of its sister schools – PNU-Manila, North Luzon and Mindanao – in the top spot.
The 57-year-old state-run university in Cadiz also produced two topnotchers – Jacob Facultad and Roxanne Ricaplaza.
Facultad, a San Carlos native ranked fourth with 93.20% weighted average while Cadiz’s lass Ricaplaza got 92.60% rating.
Last year, PNU-V also topped the same teachers’ exams with 100% passing rate in the elementary level in September.
Also, its alumna Tessh Balaod ranked 8th among the topnotchers.
Ralger Jocson, executive director of PNU-V, expressed elation with the results of March teachers’ exams.
He said PNU-V is also true to its commitment to producing quality teachers.
From entrance exam to interview, PNU-V is so strict in choosing qualified applicants for education courses.
“The entrance exam and interview for incoming freshmen are really competitive. We see to it that anyone who will be qualified to enter PNU-V is the best and brightest,” Jocson said.

Besides, education curriculum at PNU-V is really designed to make every student be teacher-ready, he added.
Cadiz Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. commended PNU-V for an astonishing performance in the latest Licensure Exams for Professional Teachers (LEPT).
“Being one among the top performing schools across the country, and having, too, two topnotchers are splendid proofs that, indeed, Cadiz is really a bastion for quality education,” he said.
Since its founding in Cadiz on July 15, 1968, PNU-V has never failed to amaze Cadizen̈os in producing quality teachers not just for Negros communities, but even for the entire country, Escalante said.
