Fr. Brian Gore passes away

Columbans PH Missionaries announces the passing away of Fr. Brian Gore, SSC, on April 20, 2025 (Easter Sunday) at 7:30 p.m., at Holy Mother of Mercy Hospital in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental.

Fr. Gore was one of the founders of the Negros Nine Human Development Foundation (NNHDF), more commonly known as “Negros Nine.”

In 2000, during the Great Jubilee, Fr. Gore, along with two fellow priests and six lay workers, formally established the NNHDF to continue their mission of justice and human development—work deeply rooted in the struggles they endured under martial law.

The “Negros Nine” was born after they were arrested in 1983 during the Marcos regime on trumped-up charges of murder. Their imprisonment drew international outcry, and the case was ultimately dismissed in 1984 due to lack of evidence.* (99.7 Brigada News FM Kabankalan)
