Negros to pilot TESDA’s Sugarcane Production NC II Training Program
Jose Francisco “Kiko” Bantug Benitez, director general of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) said Negros will pilot the Sugarcane Production NC II TESDA training program.
“The first in the entire country,” Benitez said in his social media post Saturday.
Twenty-five trainees will embark on a comprehensive 4-month course, gaining hands-on experience in everything from field preparation and sugarcane farming to the vital post-production processes, he said.
This training will equip local workers with the technical skills needed to improve productivity and sustainability in the Negros Sugar Industry, helping to strengthen the region’s sugarcane production for years to come, he added.* (TESDA Kiko Benitez SMP)
