Bacolod DSSD & DSWD implement ‘Walang Gutom’ program food redemption in Villamonte
The Department of Social Welfare and Development – VI (DSWD-VI), together with Bacolod City’s Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD), organized a food redemption activity for the Walang Gutom Program last March 26 at the Brgy. Villamonte Covered Court in Brgy. Villamonte, Bacolod.
There were 175 recipients who redeemed their food items including rice, cooking oil, eggs, vegetables, fruits, and chicken, among many others.
The Walang Gutom Program of DSWD is an initiative that aims to ensure food security among low-income households through the Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) card containing food credits amounting to Php 3,000 that can be used to buy food from DSWD accredited stores or retailers.* (BCD PIO)
