SLEEP ON IT: Teeter-Totter

March 18, 2025

Teeter-totter or seesaw as googled is a board on which two persons ride on both ends making one end rise up and the other end descends.

The ride makes play exhilarating showered with crispy chuckles from the ones at each seasaw’s end!

Like life that goes up and down depending on the sprinkles of the achieved stars that twinkle with wonder or the lashings of high tides that drive one off balanced offshore, the teeter-tooter where our status is rooted for balance need so much discernment for without judging the wails of the times very well, one will surely live in disbelief, disgust, disappointment, regret, and the likes.

The kind of relationships we make depend on how we deal with the other party. There are instances when we feel that we already have developed a friendly footing with someone without knowing that the other person despite the ‘being in a nice mode’ shown to us is still adamant to consider us an equal. Could it be our age, social standing, or perhaps our financial status? Well, a true friend does not and should not use any of these as a gauge for there should not be any measurement that can fathom how true friendship must be!
– To let go a friend is one hard thing to do, nevertheless when the clashes become more than the clasps then it is better to relinquish the torch! It is most important to live in peace with oneself if toxicity fills the cup to the brim!

One very interesting point that tickles my fancy as a Piscean born is the many traits presented about The Pisces which are truly are the same manifestations that are in my system! While browsing through features about my zodiac sign, I cannot help but smile and even shake my head for the realization which make me so proud being one under this sign. What I love most is that which states about being artistic, creative and compassionate!
– A time machine ride flashes to that day when one of the occupants of my classes just stayed on his seat even if the bell for lunch break has long past. As I just eat lunch in my schoolroom, I asked him to take his lunch break only to know that he did not have pennies to sustain himself! His father was just a tricycle driver while his mom left them to seek other loves as poverty became unbearable! Shocked to my bones, I told him to go to the cafeteria with my note to the sales attendant for a meal for two so that both of us can have our lunch. From that time on until the school year ended, I left one spirit tummy filled! Modesty aside! It is one very satisfying episode in my life being a teacher and a Piscean!

Bonding with our families especially with our siblings bring memories to life as many episodes from childhood to the present web laughters and even some note of regret yet, with the promise of more get-together on ocassions and other times ahead when everyone can pause from day to day chores!

The homecoming of our cousin Jo gave us one happy day on Earth as she really made it a point to gather most of us, siblings and cousins for a day with her before hearty meals she ordered for us. It was a very heartwarming reunion with her showering us with presents big and small which made us all elated! She, too, went back across the seas filled with goodies from our end! This one great trait, hospitality, most of us, Filipinos possess bring families, friends, and even guests closer. It does not matter though how big or small the tokens are! The cliche still works, “It is not what we give but what we share for the gift without the giver is bare!”.

Kindness in words work a mile for someone whom words of compassion are spared! The hurtful words thrown to us especially when we were and are growing up rift our hearts and our spirits to play and be replayed over and over again depleting our systems to either the enhancements or the negativity which we build and form within us!

To live in a close quarter with our neighbors the need to analyze the steps we perfom whether for the safety of ourselves and that of those around us is a must! Is it safe to burn leaves as the breeze swifts like crazy? Are we suppossed to burn things just to drive away mosquitoes?

Well, I was sent out of our room at 10 past on the 11th night of this month as the smoky scent seeps into our room causing my nose to hurt and my head to start aching! Thinking that it came from the resto next door, I sent messages to the proprietor which were replied to urgently that the smoky scent did not come from their kitchen as they were not cooking on an earthen stove. To whom will I complain to when I cannot see in which direction did the culprit came from! How irresponsible can we be when we cannot contain the smoke of our folly! How selfish can we be thinking only of our welfare when our nexr door suffers for the heartless ideas we make! My fear of a third pneumonia attack caught me sitting under the night skies until the scent evaporates into oblivion!

Since March is The Month to be more cautious, may we burn our bridges and start to connect with the ones we love in harmony rather than burning literally causing people to land in the sick bay!

May the fulcrum that unites our relationships balance peace amongst us!

To my fellow March born, Sir Pert Toga, Dra. Tatam, Miss Susan M., Ma’am Edna P., Ray G., Tito Noriel V., Luisa G., Carminia F., Connie P., Tres P., Joebert R., Nikki, Miggy Godwin, Sabbie, Samantha, Eden Pearl, and to my mother in heaven as well as to those whom I missed in my listings, God bless us with great well-being, sound mental health, safety and most of all abundance of bissfulnessl HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
