BAWAYAN CITY TAWO-TAWO FESTIVAL

Bayawan City in Negros Oriental celebrated its annual Tawo-Tawo Festival 2025 Sunday afternoon. Seven contigents participated in the Street Dancing and Seven Sacred Steps presentation at the newly constructed Bayawan City-NORSU Sports Stadium. The event was attended by Bayawan City Mayor John “Jack” T. Raymond, Jr. and Negros Oriental Governor Manuel “Chaco” L. Sagarbarria. The festival is an expression of thankgiving and celebrating the bountiful harvest of rice and other agricultural crops and also depicts the anthropological, historical, and cultural roots of Bayawan City.* (Andrew Altarejos text & photos)
