Victorias City bags 2024 SGLG National Award for 2 consecutive years
Victorias City has once again demonstrated its excellence in governance, clinching the coveted 2024 Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) National Award for the second year in a row during the recognition ceremony held at The Tent City, Manila Hotel Monday, December 9.
The award was presented by key officials from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), including Usec. Marlo Iringan, Usec. Odilon Pasaraba, Bureau of Local Government and Development (BLGD) Director Anna Liza Bonagua, Asec. Josephine Cabrido Leysa, RD Juan Jovian Ingeniero, ARD Maria Calpiza Sardua, DILG Provincial Director Teodora Sumagaysay, and Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson.
Receiving the prestigious accolade were Mayor Javier Miguel Benitez and Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III, joined by Board Member Richard Julius Sablan, and Victorias-DILG CLGOO Michelle Arriola.
As part of the distinction, Victorias City received an SGLG Incentive Fund worth Php2,000,000, to further support its exemplary governance initiatives.
In addition, the BLGD conferred a Plaque of Commendation on Victorias City during the Seal of Good Local Governance Incentive Fund National Expo 2024.
This plaque highlights the city’s 2023 SGLGIF project—Full Automation of the Business One-Stop Shop—as a model implementation for local government units nationwide.
