… And Another Award for Victorias City
Multi-awarded Victorias City continues to receive more awards, this time for being recognized as the Best LGU in Digital Transformation in the entire country, during the prestigious GCash Digital Excellence Awards 2024, at Conrad Manila, Pasay City, December 4.
The Mayor Javier Miguel “Javi” Benitez-piloted City of Victorias earned the distinguished accolade for its exceptional efforts in leveraging digitalization to promote progress, inclusivity, and transformative governance. By embracing cutting-edge technology, the City has demonstrated how digital solutions can foster meaningful change and drive community development, according to the Victorias City Information Office.
The recognition, given to LGUs that have shown proactive support and excellent execution in pushing Digital Payment Adoption across all segments, was received by City Vice Mayor Abelardo Bantug III together with City Administrator Atty. Lindolf de Castro.
It is part of the DigiCities LGU Program, an initiative aimed at transforming 27 key cities into digitally inclusive communities by promoting the widespread adoption of digital payments and enabling seamless financial transactions through GCash.
The program supports economic growth and efficiency by providing citizens with convenient, secure, and accessible financial solutions, it added.
Mayor Javi Benitez, in his video message, said that the City is truly honored and proud to be one of the finalists for the DigiCities Awards and dedicated the award to the City’s local heroes who poured their hearts and souls into Victorias’ digital initiatives and projects.
He also thanked the entire Gcash team, partners, and stakeholders.
The GCash Digital Excellence Awards is an annual event celebrating the innovative achievements of local government units, national agencies, and MSMEs in crafting impactful digital strategies for their communities.
