UNegA members to gather for general assembly on Saturday
About 200 members of the United Negros Alliance (UNegA) will attend the party’s general assembly on Saturday, Sept. 7, Cadiz City Mayor and Unega Secretary-General Salvador Escalante said.
He said that during the meeting the party will reveal their official line up for the coming 2025 elections.
Earlier, Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, UNegA President said they invited Governor Eugenio Jose.Lacson during the meeting set on Saturday at Nature’s Village Hotel in Talisay City.
Escalante said those who will attend the meeting are mayors and other local officials who are members of the party.
Lacson is an official of Love Negros along with Bacolod City Mayor Albee Benitez.
Under the UNegA and Love Negros Alliance, Love will field a candidate for Governor while, UNegA will field a candidate for Vice Governor. Board Member Jose Benito Alonzo has been chosen by UNegA to run as Vice Governor, running mate of reelectionist Lacson.
Meanwhile, Escalante said the supposed oath taking with Lakas-CMD Party which was set Wednesday, has been postponed.
With him to take oath in the political party of House Speaker Martin Romualdez are Manuel Escalante and Madonna Jaojoco of Toboso.
Escalante said no definite date yet has been given to them for the oath taking.
Aside from the mayors other local officials are also expected to join the party, Escalante said.* (NBT)
