Cancer Care and Infusion Unit at Palanca Medical Arts Building Inaugurated

The Cancer Care and Infusion Unit at the Simplicio A. Palanca Medical Arts Building (SAP-MAB) of Bacolod Adventist Medical Center (BAMC) has officially opened with a dedication ceremony last June 12, 2024.

This twenty-bed capacity area,fully equipped with the latest in intravenous (IV) infusion therapy and staffed with highly- trained nurses, doctors and medical team, is providing chemotherapy, consultations, and monitoring and counselling to patients diagnosed with cancer or those with risk for cancer.

The Infusion Unit also has a special area catering to pregnant patients diagnosed with Immunologic Disorders such as Anti-phospholipid Syndrome (APAS) who are undergoing regular immunotherapy sessions.

This also includes services on blood infusion, Phlebotomy, IVIg Immunoglobulin Infusion, Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy and Bone Marrow Aspiration.

The dedication ceremony was graced by Pastor Simeon Rodrigo, who offered a heartfelt dedicatory prayer for the team members of the department. Dr. Bevan Ali Geslani and Dr. Norman Cabaya, pivotal figures in the funding and daily operations of the unit respectively, delivered their responses, highlighting their commitment to the cause.

The event saw a gathering of esteemed guests, physicians, nursing and department managers and the hospital administrators led by Dr. Sherwin Lowe Rodrigo, President and Medical Director of BAMC, with the Cancer Care and Infusion Unit Staff headed by Unit Manager Mr. Jerry Sabino. Their presence highlights the hospital’s support and dedication to enhancing cancer care services in the city of Bacolod and in the region.

The Cancer Care and Infusion Unit aims to offer comprehensive medical management of cancer and other diseases requiring intravenous infusion therapy, integrating advanced clinical treatment with Christ- centered, compassionate and patient centric care.
