Historic event marks inauguration of 5th District United Blockfarm Organization

In a groundbreaking event hailed as a milestone for agricultural unity, the 1st General Assembly, Induction Ceremony, and Blessing of farm implements, along with the ribbon-cutting ceremony of the 5th District the United Blockfarm, ARB, Small Planter’s Organization (5D TUBO) took place. Led by the esteemed Cong. Dino Yulo, the initiative aims to federate all block farm associations across the entire 5th district, marking the first-of-its-kind activity in the Philippines.

Themed “Matam is nga Pag inupdanay sang mga magagmay nga mangunguma sang tubo sa Quinto Distrito” (Sweet Unity among Small Sugarcane Farmers in the Fifth District), the event was held at the Hacienda Nalipay Covered Court in Brgy 5, Isabela, Negros Occidental.

A staggering attendance of 1,200 participants graced the occasion, representing 31 block farm organizations. Notable figures present included representatives from the Sugar Regulatory Administration (SRA), Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

The presence of esteemed guests such as Governor Bong Lacson, Board Member Doc Rita Gatuslao, and Board Anton Occeno underscored the significance of the event in the local agricultural landscape.

Cong. Dino Yulo expressed his gratitude towards the participants and stakeholders for their unwavering support and commitment to the vision of unity among sugarcane farmers. He emphasized the importance of collaboration and collective action in addressing the challenges faced by the agricultural sector.

The induction ceremony marked the official formation of the 5D TUBO, signaling a new era of cooperation and solidarity among sugarcane farmers in the district. The blessing of farm implements symbolized the community’s shared dedication to enhancing productivity and sustainability in sugarcane cultivation.
