Mall in San Carlos ransacked

A mall in San Carlos City was ransacked by unidentified suspects on Saturday, March 30. The incident was reported to the San Carlos City Police Station at about 8 a.m. on Saturday.

The suspects carted away food items, dry goods, gadgets, and cash that amounted to P450,600.

An inventory of the stolen items showed that a total of 19 mobile phones of different brands, four laptop units, two backpacks, fragrances and assorted pasalubong items were taken by the suspects.

Based on the number of stolen items, the police believe that there could have been more than one perpetrator.

Initial police investigation showed that the burglars gained access inside the mall through an airconditioning vent they found to have been destroyed.

Police Major Ryan Villasario, deputy chief of police of the San Carlos Police Station that they have already identified at least three “persons of interest” in the robbery case at the Gaisano Capital Mall.

“There may be more,” Villasario said, adding that the suspects seem to know that the mall has no alarm system.

He said they are looking at the angle of “an inside job”
