Investors welcome in Cadiz City
Cadiz is now an open city for investors.
Thus declared City Mayor Salvador Escalante Jr. during Sunday’s well-attended 50th Dinagsa Festival.
Escalante said the entry of many investors has paved the way in the rapid development of Cadiz.
More investors are coming, he said, with four more solar farms soon to rise in Cadiz, bringing with them technologies that promote stable power.
Mayor Escalante at the same time said reported there are groups that started planting 1.2 million coffee and coconut trees, in 1,500 hectares of land. These, he also said, boost the reforestation campaign in the city.
He also said that a private entity will put up a feed mill in Cadiz.
To boost the open city status of the city, the mayor said they have started road concreting projects two to three years ago.
Agriculture Secretary Francisco Tiu Laurel, according to the mayor, envisions Cadiz and neighboring local government units as a “potential agriculture hub” for Metro Manila, using Cadiz and Batangas ports, in the transport of goods.
In an interview with newsmen Sunday, he revealed plans to expand and further develop the Cadiz City port.
Also on the part of the local government unit, Mayor Escalante said they managed to shorten the processing of business permits from 15 minutes to 11 minutes only.
“We are demonstrating a capacity to provide an ease-in-doing business across all sectors to also boost our city’s newest investment and tourism campaign tagline that is, ‘Cadiz City: Land of Splendid Opportunities’”.* (CCGR)
