Let the people decide on ChaCha: Tongson

Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund Tongson (MRT) said that democracy should always be upheld.

Tongson said he is allowing the “signature campaign to go around and let the people decide.”

“I will not force people to sign or not to sign the petition. Allow them to understand both sides and let’s see what will develop,” the mayor said.

He added that “there is nothing in government that is bad. It depends on how the people interpret and implement it,” he also said.

“I hope that whatever Constitutional changes that are being pushed should be for the benefit of the people,” he said, adding that private organizations are spearheading the signature campaign.* (EYA)
