Abanse Negrense Sports Holds Refresher Course For Referees
As the Abanse Negrense–NBTC Local Qualifying Championship draws near, the Provincial Sports Office gears up by conducting the Abanse Negrense Basketball Training Course, a refresher activity for the referees and officiating officials on January 26, 2024, Friday, at the Paglaum Sports Complex in Bacolod City. This activity was in line with the upcoming basketball leagues and tournaments under the Abanse Negrense Sports Programs.
The refresher course included FIBA (Fédération Internationale de Basketball) Three-Man Mechanics Drills, a lecture about the new rules and interpretations in basketball, and a referees conditioning course. The referees training course primarily focused on the physical conditioning of the officiating officials. This referesher course was attended by over 30 participants.
Apart from the training, the Provincial Sports Office (PSO) will also hold another refresher course on February 2, 2024 (Friday) at the Food Terminal Market of Occidental Negros (FTMON) in Bacolod from 1:00 – 5:00 PM. It is open to all interested basketball referees, coaches, and officiating officials in Negros Occidental.
The course will feature a lecture on basketball rule interpretations and other significant topics intended for referees and officiating officials.
These refresher courses, led by Throngy Aldaba are part of the Abanse Negrense Sports Programs, spearheaded by Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson.* (PSO)
