NBI summons Bacolod City employees over ‘involvement in fake permit issuance’

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) on January 23 issued subpoenas to two employees of Bacolod City’s Treasurer’s and Business Permits and Licensing Offices.

The employees are summoned for further investigation regarding alleged involvement in the release of fake permits last year, the Bacolod City Public Information Office (BCD PIO) reported.

Mayor Albee Benitez sought the NBI’s intervention to ensure a thorough and impartial examination of the matter. This development underscores the city’s commitment to upholding transparency and integrity in its administrative processes, the BCD PIO said.*
