Abanse Negrense–NBTC Basketball League’s Local Qualifying continues

The Abanse Negrense–NBTC Basketball League Local Qualifying Tournaments are heating up as the Eliminations continues in the North, Central, and South Negros Clusters over the weekend.

The game venues are at the Don Edilberto B. Vocal, Sr. Memorial Civic Center in Manapla for the North Negros Cluster, Montalbo Covered Court in Bacolod City for the Central Negros Cluster, and Pontevedra Gymnasium for the South Negros Cluster.

Murcia–MOBCA (Murcia Open Bible Christian Academy) and Notre Dame–Talisay City dominated the Bracket A and Bracket B in the North Negros Local Qualifying Tournaments, respectively. Murcia–MOBCA defeated Sagay City by default on Saturday, January 20. The team also won against San Carlos City with a score of 113 – 75 during its game on Sunday.

Apart from Murcia, Caduhaan National High School was also victorious in their game against the Municipality of Calatrava after scoring 77 – 71 at the end of the fourth quarter. Moreover, Escalante City dominated San Carlos City with a 29-point lead in the final score of 99 – 70.

Notre Dame–Talisay, on the other hand, took the lead against One Silay City with a score of 68 – 65. Fortunately, One Silay City recovered their loss after they defeated Caduhaan National High School with a final score of 77 – 62 during their game on Sunday.

JJP–Sagay City took a 20-point lead against the Municipality of Calatrava after finishing the game with a score of 68 – 48. And the Municipality of Manapla definitely made use of the so-called “home-court advantage” following its victory against San Carlos City with a score of 85 – 55.

In Central Negros Cluster, STI-West Negros University (WNU/NZane) and Trinity–Davies Paints/El Tzino took the lead in the team standing/ranking in the Brackets A and B, respectively. On Saturday, STI-WNU/NZane defeated Team 10 with a score of 82 – 79 while Trinity – Davies Paints/El Tzino crushed Bacolod Tay Tung High School with a 38-point lead after scoring 80 – 42 at the end of the final quarter. The team also beat BEBE 2025 with a final score of 75 – 45 on Sunday.

La Consolacion College–Bacolod (LCC-B) dominated the Spartans with a score of 61 – 56. Unfortunately, the team got a taste of defeat when they scored 65 points against Red Owl Prestigeo 34’s 76 points.

BEBE 2025 emerged victorious with a score of 59 – 46 against Bata National High School (BNHS) Lions. The latter team also lost against RGC Stingers with a score of 26 – 69.

BEBE 2025, on the other hand, experienced a downfall following their defeat against Trinity – Davies Paints/El Tzino with a score of 45 – 75 at the end of the last quarter. Luckily, Team 10 was able to bounce back after beating the Spartans with a score of 77 – 62.

As for the South Negros Cluster, the Municipality of Valladolid and the City of La Carlota dominated the cluster’s team standing/ranking. Valladolid finished with a 1-point lead against the Municipality of Hinigaran with a score of 67 – 66.

Sipalay City also dominated the Municipality of La Castellana after scoring 96 points against the latter’s 75 points.

Kabankalan City A took a 20-point lead against the Municipality of Ilog in a score of 64 – 44, while Kabankalan City B faced a defeat against Equiper Scorpions with a score of 64 – 67.

Meanwhile, the Local Qualifying Tournaments in the Central and South Negros Clusters will have its final round of eliminations on January 27, Saturday while the North Negros Cluster will commence its semi-final round. The Central and South Negros Clusters will begin their semi-final rounds on January 28, Sunday.
