October 28, 2023

Himamaylan City Mayor Raymund I. Tongson is urging both the candidates for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan election and the voters to make the October 30 exercises peaceful.

Even during his 50th birthday celebration last October 20, Mayor Tongson already called on candidates to “ensure the peaceful and undisturbed campaign period up to the day of the polls.”

The mayor also reminded barangay officials “to serve as good role models to the youth (SK) candidates and voters.”

“This is our chance to become good examples to our future leaders,” he pointed out.

He added that the SK is “the training ground for the next leaders of Himamaylan.”

Himamaylan has 19 barangays with a total of 77,105 regular voters spread across 211 clustered precincts.

The city has a total of 26,893 SK voters.

Himamaylan is the biggest local government unit in the 5th district of Negros Occidental and has the most number of voters.* (EYA/APT)
