Stingers IX’s Futbol slated

“9 A Side Football with off side is a precursor to 11 A Side Football which is the standard format in FIFA World Football,” said event convenor, Luis William Clauor, the Senior Vice-President of Buglas Futbol Regional Association, Inc. which will send Buglas Filipinas-Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) U14 (9-a-side) for the Regional Meet of Philippine Football Federation (PFF) Festival of Football (FOF) in Sta. Barbara, Iloilo on September 1-4, 2023.

The University of St. La Salle (USLS) Stingers 9 A Side Football Cup is brought to you by USLS Batch ’98 in cooperation with USLS Batch ’91 together with USLS Institutionalized Varsity Sports Office (IVSO) to be held at Bro. Roly Dizon Soccer Field, USLS-Bacolod August 26-27.

It will showcase players talent and skills on Day 1, Saturday, Aug. 26 (U15 born 2008 and U10 born 2013 mix) and Day 2, Sunday Aug. 27 (U17 born 2006 Boys and U12 born 2011 mix).

Forty teams coming from Nergos, Bacolod City, and Panay will see action in this two-day event.

Participating teams are USLS, Pavia FC Iloilo, I Pag-asa FC Iloilo, Kabankalan City FC, UTD. Cabatuan FC, Ludere Deo FA, Maranatha Centurious FC, One Negros FT, Jesusa Kids FC, Ilonggo UTD FC, Silay LOKAL FC, Don Bosco Technical Institute-Victorias, Apolinario Mabini ES FC, San Carlos City Negros FC, Sagay City FC, La Carlota City FC, Sta. Barbara FC, Westbridge Iloilo, Universal–SSA, PPFACC Cadiz FC and Trinity Christian School.

Ten teams in each category divided into 2 brackets will play in the eliminations round with Top 2 teams in each bracket advancing in the crossover semi finals and winners in crossover will play in the finals for Medals and Trophies.* (Photos by David Mendiola and Buglasfutbol.ph)
