June 13, 2023

MORE Power is assuring the employees of the Central Negros Electric Cooperative (CENECO) that they will be given first priority in the hiring of personnel for the joint venture company, Negros Electric and Power Corporation (NEPC).

Jonathan Cabrera, MORE Power media officer echoed the assurance made by Roel Castro, MORE Power and NEPC president and chief operating officer, during a dialog last week with CENECO employees that was also attended by Atty. Arnel Lapore, acting general manager of the electric cooperative.

Cabrera said that during the dialog, Castro and Laporte answered all the employees’ questions.

The JVA was also explained to them, he said.

“They just need to apply (to show their willingness) and pass the hiring process. They will be trained and oriented to the consumer-centric mindset and culture of NEPC,” he pointed out.

With regards to their CBA, separation and retirement pays, Cabrera said “it’s the obligation of CENECO.”

He said the funds will come from the P1.7 billion cash payment of MORE of the 70 percent of their distribution assets valued at P2.4 billion.* (EYA)
