Bacolod anti-drug ops net P2.2-M shabu, 57 suspects in April
The drug enforcement teams of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) seized suspected shabu with an estimated street value of P2.27 million and arrested 57 drug personalities during April, data released today showed.
From April 1 to 30, recovered were 334.5279 grams of the prohibited substance with a standard drug price of P6,800 per gram.
Col. Noel Aliño, acting city director, commended the operating units for their accomplishments and their continuous efforts to reduce criminality.
“Relentless operations against all forms of illegal activities will continue. We encourage the public to do their share in the peacekeeping campaign of the government,” he added.
Last month, the BCPO conducted 50 anti-illegal drug operations that resulted in the arrest of 57 drug personalities, of which seven were high-value individuals, five were newly identified individuals, and 45 were street-level individuals.
According to the report, 61 cases have been filed in court against the suspects for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
On April 28, operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested two suspects and recovered 70 grams of shabu valued at P476,000 during a buy-bust in Purok Cheriza, Barangay 27.
A day earlier, personnel of Police Station 8 apprehended Jade Babaran, 48, and his son Janelle Clyde, 27, together with the latter’s minor girlfriend, in Purok Greenfield, Barangay Tangub, resulting in the recovery of 55 grams of shabu worth P374,000.
On April 20, John Millan Lucasan, 59, a high-value individual listed as a priority target, yielded about 115 grams of shabu valued at P782,000 during a sting operation in Purok Oraro, Barangay 4 conducted by the CDEU operatives.* (Nanette Guadalquiver/PNA)
