MORE Power boosts power distribution reliability in Iloilo City with its state-of-the-art Molo and Megaworld substations

MORE Power, the three-year-old power distribution utility of Ilolo City, continues to boost the economy of the city by providing reliable distribution facilities and equipment.

During late last week’s tour of MORE’s facilities by mediamen and women from Bacolod, engineers explained the state-of-the-art 30/36 MVA Mobile Power Transformer stationed in Molo substation they referred to as “a new era in power distribution.”

This makes MORE the first in the country to utilize ABB’s cutting-edge PASS M00 technology, along with other advanced equipment from Siemens, ASTOR A.Ş, Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, and Maschinenfabrik Reinhausen.

With the new technology, engineers said MORE Power’s consumers are enjoying reliable and efficient electricity, resulting in reduced power outages and losses.

This is what Roel Z. Castro, the company’s President and CEO, was emphasizing recently when he expressed his gratitude to their partners and stressed anew their commitment to delivering top-notch service to their customers.

“Our partnership with EEI and Aktif has allowed us to bring the latest technology and innovations to provide the best quality service that our consumers deserve,” said Castro.

MORE engineers, referring to the new Molo substation as well as the just-energized Megaworld substation the visiting newsmen also toured, said the billion-peso structures and facilities are designed to ensure customers’ access to reliable and cost-efficient power supply, which will contribute to the growth and development of the booming business community in the city.

They said that while old substations will be modernized, new substations will also be put up in other areas, with mobile substations on standby to ensure continuous distribution of electricity while some substations are being improved.* (Arman P. Toga/NDB photos)
