Lacson wishes for a peaceful Holy Week
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson wishes for “a peaceful Holy Week” for all Negrenses.
He said that all security preparations by the police are in place to ensure the safety of all devotees visiting churches and holy sites with the lifting of health restrictions.
Huge crowds are expected to attend the different religious rites and activities during the week, the governor added.
He also said that it was good that the national government has announced the long weekend. “It’s a huge boost to tourism especially in the province.”
For his Holy Week message, Lacson called on Negrenses to be reminded of the reasons “we are celebrating Holy Week.”
“We should pray during this period and to thank the Lord for his sacrifice. Let us give time to the Lord,” he said.
Asked where he will spend his Holy Week break, Lacson said, “I will attend masses.”* (Eugene Y. Adiong)
