CHMSU ends Nat’l Women’s Month with huddle activity
Carlos Hilado Memorial State University (CHMSU) culminated its celebration of National Women’s Month with the “Coffee…Conversations…Collaborations…and More” huddle activity held in its four campuses on March 28-31, 2023.
The Guidance Services Office and Gender and Development (GAD) Office organized the huddle activity to promote a unified, solid, and dynamic community for enhanced collaboration with teachers, Guidance Counselors, and GAD advocates for a Guidance-oriented and gender-sensitive school environment. The two offices also partnered with the Center for Internationalization and External Relations, University Student Government, and Advocates of Gender and Development (AGAD) for the activity.
Day 1 was held in the university’s Talisay Campus, followed by Day 2 in Binalbagan Campus, Day 3 in Fortune Towne Campus, and Day 4 in Alijis Campus.
The activity was divided into two parts in each campus. After a tribute performance for the women in the faculty, the activity proceeded with a session on spirituality in the workplace, GAD issues in the classroom faced by teachers, and early detection of suicide and prevention.
Meanwhile, the session with students covered GAD issues among young adults, with guest speaker former Silay City Councilor Rosalinda G. Jimenez-Caja, and building strong coping resources.* (Kenny L. Andaya)
