SJI achieved its five peat title in NOPSSCEA 10 under Volleyball category

SJI prevailed over BTTHS in the rubber match 25-21 25-16 in NOPSSCEA season 42 played last weekend at the USLS covered court.

The SJI Team is composed of Team Captain Ayanna Alexis Tiu, Mikaella Cristina Sy, Macey Dominique Javelosa and Bianca Jayne Ong, Madisson Skye Villanueva and Celinah Anne Tan.

The baby falcons did not drop a set when it swept the elimination round. They won against Bacolod Tay Tung High School 25-20 25-21, Trinity Christian School 25-19, 25-15, University of St. La Salle- Integrated School 25-9 25-7 , Sta. Teresita Academy 25-9 25-11 and Evangelical Montessori School 25-7 25-9.

In the Semifinals SJI swept USLS 25-17 25-1 highlighted by 19 straight service aces by Tiu in the 2ndset, while BTTHS also won in 2 sets against TCS.

In the Finals SJI armed with a twice to beat advantage lose the 1st game against BTTHS in 3 sets 26-24 17-25 25-23. In the rematch SJI left nothing to chance as it clinched the championship in 2 sets.

SJI also claimed 21st runner up NOPSSCEA volleyball title in the 12 under and High School category.* (Cyrus M. Garde)
