Golden FC prepares for first football cup

Golden FC prepares for the first football cup on March 26, Sunday, at 8AM, in Ayala North Point Estate, Talisay City.

The tournament will have five categories composed of 40 football players and 10 others whom are club football scholars with ages ranging from five to 12 years old.

To look back, Golden FC started last June 6 2022 at the Talisay City football field with six pioneering members.

Mark Stephen Treyes, founder and club manager of Golden FC, aims to hone grassroots talents and develop the players’ desire to play football as a tool to reinforce the importance of sports, school, and community.

Juan Rosalia, one of the assistant coaches to Golden FC emphasizes that to promote kids’ desire for sports, you have to extend your patience and encourage them further to reach their potential.

“We don’t mean to do the parents’ responsibility in pushing their kids to do best but it’s also important for us, coaches to see how much potential they have and help them use it,” Rosalia said.

The club hosted two successful football tournaments since the kids started and have won five championships.

The tournament will group kids born from 2015, 2013, and 2011 respectively for their categories, including parents who are also interested to participate.

Different teams from all over Negros will compete.
