Information Education Campaign for Adopt-A-River Program and R.I.V.E.Rs for Life

The Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Kabankalan City led by SVEMS Lucia Salazar and PIO Lavern Gicana, in partnership with URC-SONEDCO Engr. Barry Lood, Engr. Narcis Omar Lorono, Engr. Claudine Rezaga and CRO Nooren Yusay, conducted an Information and Education Campaign (IEC) at Brgy. Camansi in Kabankalan, Negros Occidental.

The activity aims to raise environmental awareness and actions on the need to protect, conserve and rehabilitate rivers particularly the importance of Ilog-Hilabangan River to the nearby community and its benefits within the Municipality of Ilog and City of Kabankalan
It also aims to strengthen the participation of local partners in the promotion of good environmental governance by saturating attendance to different occasions to take advantage of the presence and involvement of the committee of environment, health workers and some individuals in environmental protection and preservation.

The activity was attended by a total of 70 participants composed of Brgy. Council, Health Workers, Tanods and some residents of Brgy. Camugao and the 54nd Engineer Construction Batallion of the Philippine Army based in Himamaylan City.* (Devina Martir David)
