LTO-Bacolod waiting for completion of new office to resume impounding vehicles of violators
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) in Bacolod City will resume impounding vehicles of traffic violators as soon as they transfer to their new office in Barangay Mansilingan.
LTO-Bacolod chief Renato Novero said that due to lack of space at their present office at Cottage Road, they are unable to impound vehicles of traffic violators.
Novero said their new office has a bigger area, and has a large parking space for vehicles.
The new LTO-Bacolod office in Brgy. Mansilingan which is now 90 percent complete is in Manayaosayao near Paglaum Village.
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson is expected to inaugurate it this month.
Novero earlier said that they are not yet ready to move to the new facility due to security concerns being in a remote area.
The Provincial Government of Negros Occidental spent a total of P33.34 million for the new LTO building located in a property also owned by the province.
Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, provincial administrator, said that once the LTO moves to its new facility, the old LTO building located at Cottage Road will be reconstructed into a multi-use building.* (DGB)
