ABANSE NEGRENSE softball tourney continues in Murcia
After three exciting weekends of group play, the ABANSE NEGRENSE Softball Tournament continued its eliminations in Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia on November 20, Sunday.
Seven teams competed for a chance to qualify for the Semi-Final and Final rounds this weekend.
Talisay City batters ranked first with three wins and no recorded loss in the Seniors’ Bracket A Category.
It was followed by the Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) team in second place with two wins and one loss. In third place was Bacolod City with one recorded victory and two losses.
Escalante City, on the other hand, ranked fourth with three losses.
As for the Seniors’ Bracket B Category, the batters from Silay City landed in the top place with three recorded victories and no loss.
Following Silay City were Murcia, Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS), and La Carlota in second, third, and fourth places, respectively.
The qualified teams will vie for the championship on November 26 in Brgy. Blumentritt, Murcia for the age group category. And for the Seniors’ Category, the Semi-Final and the Final matches will be on November 27.
The awarding ceremony will follow for both the Age Group and Seniors’ Category and Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson will reportedly attend the event.
Meanwhile, the ABANSE NEGRENSE Softball Tournament is one of the sports activities organized by the Provincial Sports Office slated for the last quarter of 2022. It is part of the ABANSE NEGRENSE Grassroots Sports Development Program led by Gov. Bong Lacson to provide the Negrense athletes with necessary training and exposures that could further enhance and develop their skills to equip them for future competitions.* (PSO)
