E.B.Magalona champion in DILG provincial quiz

The Municipality of E. B. Magalona clinched the champion’s trophy in the Municipal/City Category of the LG (Local Governance) Quizzard held Oct. 4 at Robinsons Place Bacolod.

The team was composed of Municipal Legal Officer Atty. Saviya Basille Albestor, Municipal Human Resource Management Officer Isabel Armila Patrata, and Executive Assistant to the Mayor Debbie Ann Monte.

Mayor Marvin Malacon congratulated the team, saying, “Your win simply shows we have the best people in our municipal government.”

“Our town has a lot of talents and potentials, many of them just waiting to be tapped or maximized to contribute to our local governance,” the mayor added.

In celebration of the 31st anniversary of the Local Government Code, the Search for the LG Quizzard 2022 was spearheaded by the Provincial Office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), in partnership with the Liga ng mga Barangay.

The other two categories of the quizzard were Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).

Other winners in the Municipal/City Category were the City of Talisay—1st runner-up, and Municipality of La Castellana—2nd runner-up.

Barangay 3 SK Chairman Ivy Alejandrino also represented E. B. Magalona in the SK Category.

Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson graced the activity. Other officials included DILG- Provincial Director Roselyn Quintana and DILG- E. B. Magalona head Joji Kristine Barcelona.

The quizzard tested the knowledge of the contestants on the Local Government Code, the Mandanas-Garcia Ruling, Disaster Risk Reduction Program- Operation Listo, Retold Community Support Program, Anti-Drug Abuse Program, Peace and Order Program, Seal of Good Local Governance, and the Katarungang Pambarangay.* (EBM PIO)
