September 18, 2022

The executive department of the Provincial Government of Negros Occidental has formally submitted its P5.1 billion proposed budget for 2023 to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (Provincial Board).

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the budget is lower by 12.87 percent compared to the 2022 budget.
The decrease is due to reduction of the share from the National Tax Allotment.

Based on the 2023 budget of the province, P4.95 billion is for the general fund, while P190.38 million is for the province’s Economic Enterprise Development Department.

The budget was formally handed over by Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz and Provincial Budget officer-in-charge Gemma Rose Flores to Negros Occidental Vice Governor Jeffrey Ferrer and SP Committee on Finance chairman Board Member Romel Debulgado.* (DGB)
