4 Bacolodnons caught in the act of stealing fuel at cell site
CAUAYAN – Four Bacolod residents were caught in the act of siphoning fuel from a generator set of a cell site at the national highway in Barangay Poblacion, Cauayan, Negros Occidental early yesterday morning, Sept. 5.
Police identified the suspects as 38-year-old Rommel Dacles Negre, 41-year-old Emilio Nombre Lumantad, and 39-year-old Rogelio Jaboc Pendon – all of Barangay Banago, Bacolod City; and 30-year-old Rosine Marie Tabalencos Tentiya of Brgy. 1, Bacolod.
According to the Cauayan Municipal Police Station, its mobile operatives led by PCMS Arnaldo T. Treyes, while on patrol, received a call from a concerned citizen at around 12:10 a.m. Monday that several individuals were inside a cell site of Smart Communications.
Upon arrival at the cell site, policemen caught the four in the act of stealing diesel fuel from the generator set and loading them into a container at a waiting red Mitsubishi Strada with Plate No. FAH 2078.
Police recovered from the suspects a bolt cutter, a hacksaw, 15 empty containers, one container filled with the stolen fuel, and two homemade shotguns with seven live ammunition.
The four are facing robbery and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition charges.
