VP Duterte-Carpio sending rep. to 25th Charter Day rites

Malacañang has declared Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2022 as a Special (Non – Working) Day in Kabankalan City.
The declaration is contained in Presidential Proclamation No. 24 signed on July 28, 2022 by Executive Secretary Victor D. Rodriguez.

“It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Kabankalan be given full opportunity to celebrate and participate in the occasion with appropriate ceremonies, subject to the public health measures of the national government,” the proclamation states.

Mayor Benjie Miranda expressed his gratitude to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for the declaration.

Meanwhile, Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio is sending a representative to the city’s 25th Charter Day anniversary rites today.

The Office of the Mayor made the announcement last night.

The VP was set to grace the Silver Charter Day rites as a keynote speaker. Her representative will read her speech during the afternoon ceremonies at the Kabankalan City Freedom Park today.

The Vice President was also set to lead the blessing and inauguration of the Kabankalan Multi-Purpose Building with Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson, Vice Gov. Jeffrey Ferrer, Mayor Miranda, and other officials.

The program for the charter day ceremonies, with the theme, “Pagbag-o kag Pag-Asenso sa Ika-25”, will start with a welcome address by Mayor Miranda after the invocation, national anthem, and the Kabankalan Hymn.

Gov. Lacson, 6th District Congresswoman Mercedes Alvarez-Lansang, and former Cong. Lim-ao Alvarez will give their messages after an Udyakan Dance Presentation by the Sa-ot Bangkal Theater & Company.
Mayor Miranda will introduce the Vice President (representative).

Following the VP speech will be the Kabankalan Music Box (Tatak Ng Pilipino Medley), and the Handuraw nga may Pasalamat (Theatrical Presentation).

Vice Gov. Ferrer will deliver the closing remark.

Part 2 of the program will be the Blessing and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony of the Kabankalan Multi-Purpose Building with VP Duterte-Carpio’s representative, Gov. Lacson, Mayor Miranda and other officials.* (APT/NDB)
