Vallacar buses ready for school opening

July 31, 2022

Vallacar Transit, Incorporated said it has enough bus units to serve the riding public especially with the resumption of face-to-face classes.

VTI media relations officer Jade Seballos said in a radio interview that they are awaiting for the decision of the Land Transportation Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) for additional bus units to be deployed based on the allowed number, as some towns and cities they serve remain under a COVID-19 Alert Level 2 status.

For towns and cities under Alert Level 1 status, Seballos pointed out that transportation companies serving in the said areas may be allowed to operate fully.

In case of an increase in passengers, VTI will also adjust their dispatching of units, she said.

In Bacolod City, Seballos said, there are sudden increases in passengers from Sunday afternoon to Monday morning.

The same could also be noticed during Friday afternoon, when commuters go back from work or school to their respective hometowns for the weekend.

Seballos said they have enough units to cater to passengers and they can adjust departure times at their terminals, especially for students when classes resume.

She assured both the authorities and the riding public that they will continue to observe health and safety protocols. She had also asked the public for their cooperation in observing the protocols.

As of July 12, there are 252 of the 581 public elementary schools and 10 of the 117 private schools under the supervision of the DepEd-Negros Occidental Division are ready for in-person learning.

Marsette Sabbaluca, Schools Division Superintendent of Negros Occidental also identified the towns of E.B. Magalona, Don Salvador Benedicto, Pontevedra, Toboso and Valladolid as ready for the resumption of full F2F classes.
