The Negros Occ. Tourism Division (NOTD) spearheaded the 3rd Quarter Meeting of Tourism Officers of all towns and cities of the province, to discuss about upcoming trainings and activities, and to prepare for the 22nd Provincial Tourism Week celebration in September.

The activity was held at the Capitol Social Hall, today.

The group also reported about updates on Tourism Statistics, Second Quarter Accomplishment Report and Third Quarter plans and programs.

Gov. Bong Lacson said that the prospects for recovery in travel and tourism are improving due to mass vaccination and easing of travel restrictions, and that he is hopeful for a more sustained increase and growth in the province’s tourism sector.

“Always remember that our province is among the most gifted in terms of human and natural resources, and with our rich history, culture and cuisine, Negros Occidental carries the most potential for tourism,” he said.

The governor also assured the tourism officers that the provincial government will always support them and continue to persevere to reach the potential of the province and the Negrenses.

Also present in the meeting were Tim Ticar of the Dept. of Tourism Region VI, Provincial Administrator, Atty. Rayfrando Diaz, Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena, and Association of Tourism Officers of Negros Occidental (ATONO) president, Juanily Pedrosa, among others.*
