DMW to host overseas jobs fair at Capitol
Representatives of the newly established Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) will visit Negros Occidental on July 20-21 for an orientation on their new computer application for recruitment, and to host a special overseas jobs fair at the Social Hall of the Provincial Capitol in Bacolod City.
According to Dr. Sharon Juance, Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) manager, Corazon Ortizo, Kaye DS Fabrigas, Mellanie Laylo, Artelitta Mariano and Ericson Landingin will arrive July 20 for a briefing of heads of PESOs of the component cities and municipalities of the province on the technical use of DMW’s job fair system under the new normal condition and eRegistration.
Their visit is also being coordinated by the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).
Meanwhile, for the special recruitment activity on July 21, Dr. Juance said the DMW shared that the partial list of duly licensed agencies participating in the jobs fair need cleaners, sales staff and carpenters for the United Arab Emirates; welders and nurses for Saudi Arabia; butchers for Poland; scaffolders, metal press, and reinforcing bar constructions workers for Japan; and nurses, physical therapist and PT assistants for Saipan.
The Department of Migrant Workers was created by virtue of Republic Act No. 11641 or the Department of Migrant Workers Act that was signed by President Rodrigo Duterte on December 30, 2021.* (PPR)
