VMC Distillery lots exempted from CARP coverage
The 106.8418 hectares of land located in Barangay Purisima, Manapla, Negros Occidental where the VMC Distillery plant is standing is exempted from Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) coverage, records of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) showed.
This is contained in a certificate of finality dated February 18, 2020 obtained by the media.
The certificate is final and executory, the document signed by Atty. Marjorie Ayson, bureau director of the DAR Bureau of Agrarian Legal Assistance, showed.
It is classified as DARCO Order No. LUCC 0819- 0078 series of 2019.
The release of the documents comes amid claims by some agrarian reform beneficiaries that the land should be distributed to them as it is covered by CARP.
This means it is reclassified into non-agricultural use prior, the order said.
The order is also subject to the following conditions:
1. Disturbance compensation to the affected tenants, farmworkers or bonafide occupants;
2. Applicant shall allow duly- authorized representatives of the DAR free and unhampered access to the subject property for the purpose of monitoring compliance
3. The DAR reserves the right to cancel or withdraw the Order for misrepresentation of facts.* (EYA)
