Prov’l Gov’t to set date for proposed 4-day vaccination drive

Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said today that they will set the date for the proposed four-day COVID-19 vaccination drive to boost it’s campaign.

According to Lacson, he had talked with Dr. Ernell Tumimbang this morning and he was told that they have not yet set the exact date of the vaccination drive.

However, Lacson said Tumimbang will present details this week.

Lacson pointed out they are going to need the involvement of all inter-local health zones.

“Hopefully by this week we can already decide kung san-o ta ma start,” he added.

Based on the Department of Health (DOH) Region VI situation report, as of May 18, 2022, Negros Occidental had already fully-vaccinated 1,061,975 people.

The number of fully-vaccinated persons belonging to the general population is at 927,006 or 64.84 percent, while senior citizens is at 134,969 or 50.06 percent.* (DGB)
