Rotary Club of Bacolod in flying colors during the DisCon 2022

Life Changing Club President Pauline Cuaycong led the Rotary Club of Bacolod to greater heights with the exemplary and outstanding club and members’ performance for the RY 2021-2022. She received the numerous awards presented by District Governor Edwin To during the Rotary International District 3850 Convention held at Astoria Regency Convention, Zamboanga City last April 22 – 23, 2022.

Three notable members of the club, Past Presidents El Cid Familiaran, Jose Glenn de Guzman and Jesus Jonathan Avelino, garnered the Exemplary Life-Changing Rotarian Award for the successful significance they have made in Rotary and in the community.

Past District Governor Edgar Sy, who spearheaded the “Tubig sa Barangay” Project on its third year by providing safe and potable drinking water to underprivileged sectors and the club’s major construction projects in far- flung communities devastated by Typhoon Odette, was presented with The Rotary Foundation Major Donor Level 3.

He, along with 18 other members, were also recognized for notable accomplishments in the Polio Plus Society. Eight of the members received the prestigious legacy award of Rotary International founder, the Paul Harris Fellow award, namely President Pauline Cuaycong, Past President Gregory Andrew Mapa, Marjorie Dino, Mae Eras, Pamela Santelices, Bea Bern Gilbor, Menchie Kovacevic and Amelyn Bravo.

Best Community Service Project in Literacy
Best Women Empowerment Project
Most Outstanding Club in Bulletin Award

President Pauline Cuaycong herself was bestowed with the Outstanding Club President Award (Big Club Category) and during the convention Governor’s Ball, the Best in Vegas Attire, showing how she has achieved both performance and flair as the club’s commendable leader.

The Rotary Club of Bacolod continues to raise its flying colors beyond the convention in colorful Zamboanga city to uphold the ideals of Rotary International and the selfless dedication to the community, living up to this year’s Rotary theme “Serve To Change Lives”.* (RTN Gay Marie Gane-Tiu, thru Club Secretary Frederick Anthony B. de Leon)
