Eight Negrense-scholars who took the National Careworker Licensure Examination in Miyazaki Prefecture, Japan passed the board examinations, recently.

They are Kevin Clyde Catequista from Sipalay City, Don Vetsky Decena from Hinobaan, Mary Grace Joan Ebro from Talisay City, Lyrine Ortiz and Jaime Padrid from Himamaylan City,

Hervie Superticioso from Pontevedra, Ferlie John Argando from La Castellana and Melbourne Crispo from San Enrique.

These scholars, who are also registered nurses in the Philippines, are grantees of the Japanese Language and Culture Training Program on a Study Now, Pay Later scheme that was crafted for healthcare workers in 2018.

They went to Japan in January 2019 to study Japanese Language and Vocational Course in Caregiving for three years and three months through the efforts and valuable support of Japan’s Houei Group chairman, the late Yutaka Shimizu, Social Welfare Corporation, Yutaka No Sato headed by chairman Yukiko Shimizu and Houei Group Enterprise chairman Noriyuki Tsuda.

The scholars took the licensure examinations in January this year after finishing their studies. As a result of their passing the licensure examination, their visa will be changed to careworker or nursing care visa in Japan.

The change in visa status means they are allowed to work in Japan as regular workers with permanent employment at the Houei Group of companies based on their scholarship contract.

Gov. Bong Lacson congratulated the scholars for their unique achievements and thanked the people behind this partnership especially the Houei Group and Yutaka No Sato for opening this opportunity to Negrenses who dream to make Japan their second home.*
